JOURNAL SKETCH: KUBLAI'S INVASION FORCE DURING THE SOUTHERN SONG CAMPAIGN 绘画日志: 忽必烈的南征部队

The invasion force of Kublai's Yuan Dynasty consist only a small number of Mongolian troops, and the main body of the army consist of troops or engineer that acquired from their conquered territories. Those fight under the Yuan banner against Southern Song might include troops from the former Jin Dynasty, Tangut Kingdom, Khwarazm, Kevin Rus etc. I can imagine the situation back then might seems like the Southern Song were fighting against an international forces. In this sketch, the captains from varies nationality and their Mongol overlords are inspecting Southern Song defensive position located on the other side of Chang Jiang river.

入侵南宋的元军当中，作为霸主的蒙古人只占了少数。其余的主力应该包含了大量从蒙古帝国在欧亚大陆的占领地中征来的当地战士与工匠。当中就包括了前金国，西夏，花剌子模，高加索，基铺罗斯，巴格达等地的战士。我觉得当时的南宋守军所面对的敌人，看上去会好像是一个多国性的联合部队。今次的构思图想探讨的就是各色各样来自欧亚异域或前中原诸国的将领聚集在长江岸边，与蒙古将领一同观察对岸宋军的情景。
